If you ask Edwin to tell you about himself, he wouldn’t start with awards, titles, or elected office.
He’d tell you he’s a husband, father, veteran, neighbor, and someone who simply loves Huntersville.
This town isn't just where Edwin lives. It's where he and his family built a life. It's where he raised children, worshiped, served through his church, worked, built relationships, and invested in the community he plans to call home
for the rest of his life.
His journey has taken him through military service in the Air Force during the Gulf War and Desert Storm, leadership roles in corporate America, entrepreneurship, and now public service.
Along the way, he learned something that has stayed with him: leadership isn't about being the loudest person in the room. It's about listening first, treating people with respect, and being willing to do the work.

Ask people who know Edwin, and you'll hear something that matters far more to him than any title: he's approachable. He'll stop and talk in the grocery store aisle, share a laugh over coffee, listen to concerns, and tell you honestly where he stands.
Even when conversations are difficult, Edwin believes people deserve respect, transparency, and the truth. He believes leadership isn't about always having every answer. It's about showing up, listening, and being willing to have real conversations.
As a Town Commissioner, Edwin has carried those same values into public service. He has worked to support veterans, strengthen public safety, encourage responsible growth, support local businesses, and preserve the qualities that make Huntersville a place people are proud to call home.
But for Edwin, service has never been limited to a meeting room or a vote. He rarely misses a ribbon-cutting for a new local business because he believes small businesses are part of the heartbeat of a thriving community. He helped champion Huntersville's first Martin Luther King Jr. celebration and has supported initiatives that expand housing opportunities, protect our environment, grow parks and green spaces, and plan thoughtfully for infrastructure improvements that prepare Huntersville for the future.
He proudly attends police and fire recognition ceremonies, retirements, and, during difficult moments, stands beside town staff and their families when support matters most. And he still regularly meets one-on-one and in small groups with residents who want to talk, and yes, sometimes vent, about what's working and what isn't in Huntersville.
Because for Edwin, serving this community has always been personal.
He's invested in Huntersville's future, personally, professionally, and as your neighbor.

Edwin believes downtown should be more than a destination people drive through. It should be a place where neighbors gather, families spend time together, local businesses thrive, and community life naturally happens. He wants to continue supporting efforts that create a vibrant downtown experience while preserving the character and charm that make Huntersville unique.
Economic Development & Smart Growth
Growth should be intentional, not reactionary. Edwin supports attracting businesses that strengthen the local economy, create quality jobs, expand the tax base, and reduce the burden on residents. Smart growth means planning ahead for roads, infrastructure, and services so Huntersville remains connected, accessible, and livable for years to come.
Workforce Housing
Teachers, first responders, healthcare workers, young professionals, and the people who serve this community should have opportunities to live here, too. Edwin supports practical solutions that create housing options for working families while preserving neighborhood character and maintaining balance across the community.
Veterans Affairs & Support
Serving veterans remains deeply personal to Edwin. Building on the work already underway, he wants to continue expanding resources, awareness, and local support so veterans and their families can more easily access services, benefits, and community connections close to home.
